| Section IV: Intermediate Empty Hand Forms |
Intermediate Level Students It has been the repeated experience of Green Dragon that many of what we consider to be intermediate level forms are actually the equivalent of advanced forms in many other schools. Nevertheless in our judgement we view these 13 sets as midway between beginning and advanced. All are truly excellent fighting forms in every respect and would be interesting challenging and highly productive to any Kung-Fu student. The variety alone can have an exceptionally positive impact on the balance and overall development of a serious trainee.

| Northern Hsing I Ch'uan | |
| | Excellent Southern Shaolin modification of a rare Northern Hsing I combined form. Not the 5-Elements (Wu Hsing) style of movement though that influence can be seen. Balanced attack and defense. Some unusual moves, as would be expected in a set that is both internal and external in nature.
| Tang Lang Tsai Chang Ch'uan | $39.95 | |
| Praying Mantis | |
| | Fast and explosive Northern Mantis set stressing the characteristics of movement commonly associated with Northern Mantis. Outstanding set for the extraction of combat applications.
| Tang Lang Peng Pu Ch'uan | $39.95 | |
| Praying Mantis | |
| | Northern Mantis ''Crushing Step'' set. Typical fast Mantis hand movements in association with an emphasis on footwork, primarily centering on stomping and sweeping applications with the feet. Powerful, dynamic. Builds good leg strength while teaching simultaneous attacks to high and low gates.
| Northern White Dragon | |
| | This dynamic set from Northern White Dragon style is both complex and circular in nature, and as such, is excellent for use in deriving realistic fighting techniques and for developing the ability to maneuver easily around an oppent. This set is a favorite of Green Dragon students due to the abundance of circular movements and explosive striking techniques. Video also features a portion of a lecture give to students in the home studio -- valuable information!

| 7-Star Mantis | |
| | White Ape Comes Out of the Cave A set most closely associated with 7-Star Mantis, although Ape material similar to this also shows up in Southern Shaolin. Both long and short range simian technique combined with Ti Tang Men ground fighting applications. Does not have the ''stylisms'' of pure Monkey forms, but lends itself very well to practical man-to-man work. Promotes good overall strength and requires good stamina. Definitely an ''advanced'' form in many schools.

| White Eyebrow | |
| | White Eyebrow Tiger Hand White Eyebrow form stressing the Tiger Animal style of movement. Both White Eyebrow sets employ the characteristic ''back stance'' and ''punching step'' associated with this unique style, as well as the Pa Kua style single and double blocks, both upright and inverted. Not devoted to the exclusive use of Phoenix Eye Fist and therefore much more flexible. Excellent for centerline control and close-in fighting. Excellent techniques. | Honan Shaolin | |
| | Solid and balanced fighting form usually taught at the first level in the series of 12-16 forms comprising the basic program of Honan Shaolin. Excellent foundational form for the advanced Shaolin fighting sets coming up later in the brochure.
| Ching Nein Ch'uan (Two-Man Set ) | $39.95 | |
| Northern 5-Animal Shaolin | |
| | Youth Fist The commonly seen 2-man empty hand set which is utilized in several of the major southern systems. Each side represents a solo form in and of itself and can be practiced that way until mastered. Although relatively easy as contrasted with some of Green Dragon's advanced 2-man sets, the ''Youth Fist'' has had wide acceptance in the Orient for many years indicating its value. It exists in several modifications, this is one of the best. Great foundation for the advanced 2-man empty hand set listed later in the brochure.
| Fukien and 5-Animal Snake (Snake Exercise Sets) | $39.95 | |
| Snake | |
| | Two different forms on the same tape! These are not fighting forms as such but rather sophisticated exercises designed to produce and balance the ch'i force within the body for Snake practitioners (or anyone). The first is an entire form executed like Tai Chi; the second (very rare!) is done in place. When proper diaphragmatic breathing and concentration are combined with correct performance, these will induce a state of super health and provide internal power for use at the palms in self-defense situations, regardless of what style one trains in! The 5-Animal set may date to the era of Tamo and bears relationship to the sinew changing course especially when employed with other 5 Animals sets on tape.
